CFP: Media policy & political communication

Two workshops related to the 18th Nordic Political Science Congress (NoPSA) are now looking for papers. The workshops are titled “Communicating politics in the digital age” and “Media Policy and Digitalization”. They will be arranged sometime during the congress, between the 8th and 11th of August 2017. The event will take place in Odense, Denmark.

The workshop on political communication is especially interested in changing power relations: politicians are communicating more directly with their constituents, and the roles of traditional journalism and media are deflated.

The workshop on media policy seeks to revitalize scholarly activity within the sub-field. The media landscape is changing rapidly due to digitalization, which is liable to render old media policies outdated – timely research and discussion is thus badly needed.

Paper abstracts for any of the workshops must be sent to the workshop chairs by January 15th 2017. Acceptees will be notified by March 15th.

Further information on the event is available on the NoPSA 2017 website. Here are direct links to the calls for papers of the workshop on political communication and the workshop on media policy.
