CFP | 5.2. | Gender differentiation in media industries

A conference entitled “Gender Differentiation in Media Industries” is now accepting paper proposals. The event will be hosted by the Peace Institute at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, on the 14th and 15th of June 2018.

The conference seeks to deepen understanding on the underlying reasons to gender-based differentiation in both media production and media representations. The organisers are especially interested in studies on “the European peripheries”, television, and online media. The list of suggested topics includes:

  • Feminization of media work
  • Media work environments and gender roles
  • Gender representation in media texts
  • Gender differences in imagining audiences
  • Gender and media consumption

Paper abstracts must be submitted by January 19th 2018. The deadline for abstracts is extended to 5 February. Acceptees will be notified by March 2, and full papers are due on May 11.
