The Digital News Report 2017 published by the RISJ Institute is out. The report is written by Nic Newman, Richard Fletcher, Antonis Kalogeropoulos, David A. L. Levy and Rasmus Kleis Nielsen, with country-level commentary and additional insight provided by partners.
The report looks at digital news consumption based on a YouGov survey of over 70,000 online news consumers in 36 countries, including overall as well as country-specific findings. The report focuses on the issues of trust in the era of fake news, changing business models and the role of platforms.
