Online first: Multiskilling is not a pretext to newsroom cutbacks

The all-time second issue of the Journal of Media Innovations is out and available online. As the name of this open access journal suggests, its contents focus heavily on change in newsrooms and other media organizations.

Of interest to journalism scholars in this issue: multiskilling demands in newsrooms are not directly related to staff cuts and increased workloads; IT-departments are more interested in newsroom innovation than their colleagues in marketing or editorial departments; a model of innovation creation through interaction between various parties is presented.

All articles are available at the journal’s website.
