CFP | 12.3.2018 | Fear, culture and agency

The Asian Conference on Cultural Studies is calling for contribution proposals. The event will take place between the 1st and 3rd of June 2018 in Kobe, Japan. The conference theme is “Fearful Futures: Cultural Studies and the Question of Agency in the Twenty-First Century”.

Submissions are not limited to the conference theme, but each submission should fall into one of the 37 “streams” named by the event organisers. Among them are “Journalism” and “Media Studies”. Furthermore, each submission should identify a sub-theme – of which the organisers have listed 48.

Abstracts should be submitted by March 12th 2018 at the latest. The results of the abstracts’ peer review process are expected to finish “within three weeks” after submission. Full papers are due after the conference, on July 3rd.

The full call for papers is available on the conference website.
