PAPER: Conflict media literature forgets non-western view

Literature on media frames of political conflict is a fractured field, writes Nebojša Vladisavljević of University of Belgrade in her literature review paper.

For example, there are only limited attempts to combine the analysis of media coverage of different kinds of conflicts; or findings from disparate parts of conflict literature. Moreover, the literature often ignores non-western frames – especially in domestic conflicts. All in all, Vladisavljević writes, the media-conflict literature suggests that media coverage of political conflict can only be understood in context.
