Participation plays an important role in contemporary journalistic discourse. New article by Eric Carlsson and Bo Nilsson explores the different meanings of participation in community news media and public service media in northern Sweden.

Carlsson and Nilsson discus how the three key themes, participation as marketisation, participation and production, and participation and democracy contribute to the constitution of journalistic identities in a local context and to its meanings within the media sphere in general.
