Journalism Research News collects data for two reasons: 1) to monitor the traffic and sources of traffic to our website, 2) to contact you in case you give us feedback or contact us for other reasons.
We collect the data using wo methods: via cookies and through our feedback form. Embedded content on our site (e.g. YouTube videos) also gathers data using cookies.
How do we handle your personal data?
Journalism Research News handles your data in a responsible manner, taking care of information security. We only handle information that is appropriate and for which we have legal grounds for. We keep the data only as long as it is necessary.
We do not handle your personal data outside the EU or share them to third parties. Cookies may be handled by third parties, through the services we use (see the cookie section below). Data used for Google Analytics is anonymized and cannot be traced back to you.
We retain analytics data for 26 months. We keep information shared via the contact form for a year.

The plugin works by sending an additional request to stats.g.doubleclick.net that is used to provide advertising features like remarketing and demographics and interest reporting in Google Analytics. The plugin also creates a new cookie named _gat that has a ten minute timeout. This cookie does not store any user information, it’s just used to limit the number of requests that have to be made to doubleclick.net.
