A conference on outside influence on media is looking for submissions. The event, Media Trends 2015, is subtitled as “Power and Media: Ownership, Sponsorship, Censorship”. It is organized and hosted by the Webster Vienna Private University in Vienna, Austria. The conference will take place between the 10th and 12th of September later this year.
The event welcomes proposals for presentations, panels and posters from both academics and practitioners. All presentations are eligible to receive a monetary prize, if so appraised. The topic covers the various ways in which influence is exerted on media, from financial coercion by advertisers to state sanctioned censorship. Poster and presentation abstracts should be sent by April 15th, panel proposals are due on the 1st of May.
