We dive into the power of algorithms in the interview with Nicholas Diakopoulos of the University of Maryland. Diakopoulos explains why researching algorithms is important from a journalistic view and tells how these studies can be put into practice. He also makes a list of skills needed to do these kind of inquiries and shares an example from his work.
You can also watch Diakopoulos’ keynote lecture from the NODA16 data journalism academic pre-conference held in Helsinki in April 2016.
