CFP: The future of Canada’s native people’s broadcasting

A series of symposia on the topic of broadcasting and Canada’s native peoples is looking for contributions. Six regional gatherings and a three-day conference will be organised under the title “The future of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis broadcasting: Conversation & convergence”.

The series of events is intended to vitalize discussion in advance of an upcoming review of Canada’s Native Broadcasting Policy. The one-day symposia begin in February 2017 and finish in May the same year. The conference will take place between 15th and 17th of June 2017 in Ottawa.

The events’ organisers welcome a broad range of contributions: “paper presentations, panels, workshops, round-table discussions, focus groups, and public or private meetings”. In addition, hands-on workshops for Indigenous youth are welcomed. All proposals should be submitted by December 12th 2016. Acceptance decisions will be made and announced by December 21st.
