CFP: Ethics and responsibility in journalism

The fourth Understanding Transition conference, this time themed “Ways and Challenges to Responsibility”, is now open to abstract submissions. The event itself will take place on the 2nd and 3rd of June 2016 in Bucharest, Romania.

The underlying rationale to the conference is that the accelerated and liberated flow of information online has made the idea of providing uncompromising service to shareholders untenable. Instead, any organization regardless of ownership model must operate in an ethical and responsible manner.

The conference welcomes both empirical and theoretical research on a broad spectrum, as long as it concerns itself with ethics, responsibility and accountability. Examples of suitable topics are, among others, “media representations, moral agency and responsibility” and “responsible journalism”.

Paper abstracts are due on the 20th of April, and accepted presenters are notified by the 10th of May.

Further information of the event is available on the University of Bucharest’s website.
