CFP: Challenges for environmental communication

The biennial conference of the International Environmental Communication Association (IECA) is looking for various submissions. The conference, entitled “Democracy, Borders and Public/Political Engagement: Challenges for Environmental Communication” will take place between June 29th and July 2nd 2017 in Leicester, United Kingdom.

The event organisers welcome a diverse array of submission types: papers, panels, workshops, posters, reflections and artwork. Among proposed topics are:

  • Environmental journalism in the new media environment
  • Beyond news: new forms of environmental communication and engagement
  • The mediation of environmental crises and disasters
  • The mediation of environmental crises and disasters
  • Environmental crises, spin and news management

The deadline for proposals is December 15th 2016. Acceptees will be notified on February 1st 2017, and completed papers and posters must be submitted by June 1st 2017.
