CFP | 31.5. | What does it mean for journalism to be “constructive”?

An upcoming special issue of the journal Journalism Practice is calling for paper proposals. The issue is guest-edited by Laura Ahva and Mikko Hautakangas, both of University of Tampere, and it is scheduled for publication in August of 2018.

While journalism is often tasked with revealing problems in societies, “constructive journalism” is proposed as a counter-movement towards more solution-oriented reporting. The editors ask: can the two coincide, and if – how?

Paper abstracts must be submitted by the end of May 2017. Acceptees will be notified by November, and full papers are due by the end of November.

The full call for papers is available on the publisher’s website.
