A conference entitled “Cut the bullshit! Conference on Communication, Populism and Electoral choice in the new media environment” is now accepting paper proposals. The event will take place in Cadenabbia, Italy, between the 20th and 22nd of June 2018.
The rationale to the conference is the many surprising electoral results of recent years. According to the conference organisers, these “political earthquakes” give rise to the question: “how the hybrid media environment may possibly alter the traditional and new campaign communication tools employed by the politicians, and how they may potentially influence voters’ choice”. Both theoretical and empirical works are welcome.
Paper abstracts should be submitted by November 30, and acceptees will be notified by December 20.
Further information, including the full call for papers, is available on the conference website.
