CFP | 30.11. | Death in media

The journal Funes is calling for article proposals for its upcoming special issue, themed “The representation of death in modern society”. The issue is scheduled for publication in July 2018.

The editors seek to address the contemporary changes in the representations of death, especially through and due to media. Suggested topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Media, technologies and death
  • Visibility and segregation, public death and private death
  • Meanings, symbols, ideas about death and dying
  • Rituality, elaboration of grief and commemoration

Article abstracts must be submitted by the end of November 2017, and decisions of inclusion will be announced by mid-December. Full manuscripts are due on March 20th 2018, peer reviews are completed by the end of April, and final versions must be delivered by June 5.
