The journal Media, War and Conflict is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a conference, and its organisers are now accepting paper and panel proposals. The conference will take place in Florence, Italy, on the 22nd and 23rd of May 2018.
The general goal of the event is to “take stock” of how the field of study has developed. To this end, the organisers have suggested a number of potential topics. The (non-exhaustive) list includes themes such as:
- The ethics of war and media ethics
- Gender, war and media
- Narratives of war
- Conflict prevention, peacekeeping and media
- Terrorism, media and publics
Paper and panel abstracts should be submitted by the 10th of January 2018.
