What kind of unique skills does management of media companies require?

A new book Managing Media Firms and Industries: What’s So Special About Media Management? is edited by Gregory F. Lowe of the University of Tampere and Charles Brown of the University of Westminster.

It looks at similarities and differences of media firms compared with other industries. These are evaluated in terms of management practices, HR development and operational aspects. Future research directions are pondered and practical implications are offered for managers.
